Daniel (Mattia Zaccaro), an ambitious pianist in his twenties, has finally achieved his great ambition to perform in a prestigious international piano competition. But the unexpected appearance of a mysterious young eastern pianist, Shihong (Jennivere Song Lee), upsets the expected outcome for him. And soon, Daniel is forced to face a dark journey within his fears, while the threatening and disturbing figure of Shihong seems to snatch away from him everything: fame, love, dignity, success. I will play supporting role of Nikolai Kraus, a very important publisher, musicologist and professor in the world of music competition. Eleanor James, Marysia Kay and Nuot Arquint (The Passion, Il Divo) will also star. It will start shooting in the beautiful city of Orvieto in mid September.
'Voices'. A short film about a husband and wife on the brink of destruction. Written by myself, it will be produced by Barbershop Triplet Productions. Cathal Nally (My Angel, The County) will direct. Cast attached so far is Una Kavanagh (Fair City, Tufty), Brian Fortune (3 Crosses), Breacadh McBride, Aaron Shanahan and myself. It starts shooting 21st of August. More on it later.
Horror feature "Portrait of a Zombie" has recently wrapped shooting in Dublin. It was written and directed by Irishman Bing Bailey who has lived in the United States for past number of years. Synopsis: A working class Irish family is caught up in a zombie invasion of Dublin, Ireland. When their son, Billy, becomes a zombie the family chooses to take care of him in the home much to the chagrin of the neighbors and the local Crime Boss (played by myself). Meanwhile, they’ve invited an American documentarian to film their situation and the film crew is caught up in the mayhem. Will the family prove that blood is thicker than water or will their love lead to their eventual doom? One thing is clear, for the zombies in Ireland, the famine is definitely over. Brett Halliday's feature "Lost Causes", in which I will play the role of 'Gentleman Joe', is awaiting the green light. It will start principal photography in late 2010. More on this later.
